Fashion Show Review – Valentino Menswear FW 2015

It is a wide-known fact that Valentino is all about boldness and fashion statement with the Italian scent. And it can definitely be seen in the new Menswear Fall Winter 2015-2016. The show opens up in a room that reminds an old mansion – chandeliers, fancy wallpapers and floor. The music is very calm – a little mix between piano and electronics. It makes me think of the bridge from the classics to the modern, just like Valentino that has covered that long but very successful way.

The models are gorgeous young men, al dressed preppy… except from when you look at their accessories and outerwear. Over the nice classy suits there are straight oversized coats, capes and jackets; in their hands they hold huge backpacks and men-clutches. They are in a variety of patterns and are mainly in grey shades: khaki, geometric, monotone. What is the key of the collection is geometry – it is simple, but brightens up the looks. There are rhombus, triangles, stripes, squares and many many more.

After the grey geometry, the runway is blasted up with some dark colors: burgundy, blue, green. Speaking about the colors – they never are too much contrasted and they even can smell like fall through the pictures! But the geometry is not finished, it is present throughout the whole collection, as it is influenced by the 60s. The shapes of the clothing act on the geometry and make them all add up into something united and artistic. Accessories are also gaining the colors and the patterns -all of those backpacks and clutches are like dipped into paint very evenly.

There are some unusual color combinations happening on the blog as well – black with brown. They are repeated from one piece of clothing to the other – starting with the applications on the outerwear, and finishing with the leather inserts. Speaking about applications – there are dark blue/white night moths printed right under the collar pf the shirts and coats – they hint on the winter season coming up. There are also combination suits and coats, mainly in the shades of grey and beige. All of them have tiny little prints of texture – something like plaid or little stripes.

The new collection of Valentino doesn’t shock us – we are all used to the extravagance, but at the same time Italian classiness of the brand. But what can actually be said in conclusion, is that valentino are making life better for the men-fashion lovers, as they create such mazing pieces of clothing that inspire everyone around.
